If you have insurance but I am not in-network, there is a chance that your insurance includes reimbursement for Out-Of-Network (OON) services. If you would like to seek possible reimbursement for OON services, you can call your insurance company or you can visit Advekit, fill out their questionnaire (say you are looking for a therapist), and see if your insurance offers OON reimbursement.

Client State Policy

We are only accepting Illinois and Colorado residents for therapy at this time. If you live in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, you can schedule in-person sessions in the future. 

Cancellation Policy

Appointments can be cancelled without a fee up to 24 hours in advance. If appointments are cancelled within 24 hours of the appointment, you will be charged $75, for both self-pay & insurance. If you are able to reschedule your session in the same week, the late cancellation fee will be waived; this is dependent on my availability. If the rescheduled session is also cancelled or a no-show, the one late fee will be reinstated. If the therapist cancels the session, expect to reschedule and there will be no cancellation fee.

OpenPath clients are charged their full session price for any appointments cancelled within 24 hours. This late fee is also waived with a rescheduled appointment, but it depends on therapist availability. 

Late Policy

If you are late to your session, expect to still pay your full fee and the session to still end at the expected end time. You can send me a text (847-241-1362) to let me know. If you are more than 15 minutes late, consider the session cancelled (and be charged the cancellation fee). This does not apply if I am late.  Whatever time I am late will be added to the end of your appointment.

Paperwork Policy

There are several pieces of paperwork that must be completed in order to legally and ethically receive counseling. The paperwork can be accessed & completed in your client portal and may take up to an hour (or more) to complete. You can save your progress if you cannot do it all in one sitting. Paperwork must be completed before your Inital appointment. 

Communication Policy

You can communicate with the therapist through email, text, phone, or secure messaging in the Client Portal. Messaages will be responded to within 24 hours.  If you call or text between sessions, the first 15 minutes are free. Any additional 10 minutes will be charged $25.  OpenPath clients have individual rates. Insurance clients can either choose to self-pay this rate, or schedule a session, as insurance does not cover time outside of session unless it is a crisis.

IM Session Policy

Instant Messaging sessions operate through Chameleon Counseling Spruce. IM sessions are ONLY available:

  1. After an Initial Intake session, which must be done through phone or video.
  2. If the client self-pays. We cannot bill insurance for instant messaging sessions.
